Sarah

My therapeutic approach is person-centered and psychodynamic. I focus on building a therapeutic alliance with clients. It is through this alliance we can uncover the unconscious roots and meanings of distressing feelings, behaviors and thoughts. My approach also includes an understanding of the various ways people experience trauma, including social, historical and economic disenfranchisement.

I am a currently working on my master’s in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern University. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies, a multidisciplinary area of study that informs my counseling approach, from Portland State University. Once my internship is completed, I will pursue licensure to become an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor). I am also pursuing a Certification in Grief Counseling from AIHCP (American Institute of Healthcare Professionals).
