Zosia

Welcome! My name is Zosia, and I would like to share a bit about myself in order to help you choose a therapist that best fits your needs. I come from Poland, where I was born, raised, and received my education.

All my life I have been interested in the human experience. As an undergraduate I studied theater, fascinated by characters’ interactions and relationships in plays and on stage. Later on I worked in schools, watching children create connections with others and develop their own identities. My curiosity about the human experience and human relationships led me to begin studying psychology.

In my life, I have been very fortunate to be surrounded by amazing people who have supported me, inspired me, and stood by me in challenging times. I strongly believe that as humans we are designed to live in connection with others, and the world around us. I think that this connectedness is essential to sustain us, and help us grow as individuals. Sometimes, when these bonds are threatened, we lose our emotional balance, our sense of safety, and our love for ourselves. My goal as a therapist is to help you feel connected with yourself and others, which hopefully will allow you to gain a deeper understanding of who you are.

In my approach, therapy is a collaboration where I listen to you with empathy and curiosity. I also view our work together through a systemic lens in order to understand how specific circumstances, such as family, culture, or society, have shaped your unique experience. Being an immigrant, I know what it means to be affected by policies, societal expectations, and people’s judgement. I hold a belief that there are many things that we cannot change about the world we live in, but we can change the way we interact with it. Finally, I want to say that I am not an expert on your life, and I am not here to “fix” you. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space for you, where you can feel heard and respected, and where you can try new things and take risks in order to grow and heal.
