Hi there! I’m Amaya (she/her) 🙂 I bring curiosity, creativity, and a deep respect for the many ways our minds work, and our stories unfold into every session. As someone who is biracial and neurodivergent, I understand how complex and layered our identities can be—and how healing it is to have a space where all parts of you are welcome. To me, therapy is a place to reclaim your voice, reconnect with yourself, and make meaning out of your experiences. I’m passionate about walking alongside people as they explore who they are—especially in the context of their relationships, cultures, emotions, and lived experiences.
Whether you’re coming in as an individual, couple, or family, I aim to create a warm, collaborative space where you feel truly seen and heard. I know that being vulnerable can be hard. You don’t have to do it alone! I bring thoughtfulness, empathy, and a nonjudgmental presence into our work together, and I’d be honored to support you on your journey.
I work with clients who may struggle with communicating within their relationships or expressing their internal experiences effectively. Whether my help includes facilitating greater emotional connection to self and others, or understanding what barriers stand in the way, I believe that meaningful change can be achieved through increased awareness. My goal is to help you respond instead of react.
I’m particularly drawn to working with: People navigating intergenerational or cultural dynamics; Neurodivergent clients; Individuals processing religious trauma or exploring spirituality; Those in high-conflict relationships; or anyone seeking deeper emotional intimacy and self-awareness.
I work from Satir’s Human Validation & Growth Model which encourages flexible growth in accordance with developmental life stages. I want to help you shift from rigid survival/trauma stances to healthier and more flexible patterns of relating. I also work from Bowen’s Intergenerational Model, which seeks to increase consciously chosen responses over multigenerational patterns and learned behavior.
Lastly, I’ll tell you a little bit about myself! My family household has seven cats, but only two of which are mine. Their names are Mochi (female, Siamese) and Paxton (male, half-Siamese, half mixed breed). I love cats and I think pets are an amazing source of comfort. I also enjoy reading books, playing video games, and drinking strawberry matchas. If my bio piques your interest then I’d be excited to connect with you!
