Hi! My name is Trent (he/him). I believe in fostering deep connections with my clients by meeting them where they are at so I can better understand where their lived experience. I focus on creating a space for my clients to feel safe sharing without scrutiny or judgement and where they can be their true authentic selves. My perspective of therapy is one where the client is the captain of the ship and the therapist is the co-captain, always there to be the “tap on the shoulder” when necessary.
I believe that people’s ideal lives are more attainable than they’ll ever imagine. I am passionate about the relationships clients want to have both with themselves, their bodies, and their caregivers. I feel that oftentimes the systems we are born into don’t allow us to expand on what relationships and connection looks like for us individually. I hold a strong belief that stories are meant to be re-written and that our clients are the authors of their own story, able to cross things out and add something new at any time.
My practice revolves around Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Existential Humanism, Ecotherapy, and a trauma-informed and anti-racist approach. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals, teens, end-of-life clients, couples, and families; especially those who are dealing with large life transitions, internal family conflicts, and systematic scrutiny. My focal points with clients include supporting them with the grief and loss process, supporting single parents and/or their children, supporting those dealing with social and relational anxiety, loneliness, and providing guidance to those who come from dysfunctional family dynamics.
