Jamal

I’m Jamal, and I use he/him pronouns. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health. My personal journey has been shaped by navigating mental health challenges in a community that often overlooked such struggles. It was only after leaving the military and seeking support to cope with stress that I discovered my own battle with anxiety, which had compounded my mental health challenges.

Through education and counseling, I have forged a profound sense of identity and liberation. I am passionate about accompanying others on their transformative journeys towards self-realization. I unapologetically champion mindfulness as an invaluable tool for self-centering and reclaiming focus, drawing from over six years of personal mindfulness practice and its tangible impact on my own nervous system.

I firmly believe that heightened awareness fosters the strength and courage needed to effect meaningful life changes. By taking accountability for what we can change and honing the skills to accept what we cannot, we become more adept custodians of our mental well-being. It’s an honor for me to have you consider my bio, as it signals the beginning of your courageous pursuit of transformative change. I hope to be granted the privilege of accompanying you on this journey.

I eagerly anticipate collaborating with individuals, couples, families, as well as supporting individuals from BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Sex Positive, and Military Veteran communities.
