Nat La

Hi! My name is Nat (they/them) and I’m happy you are here! Seeking therapy can be scary and yet a very courageous step, but you do not have to do it alone. I believe that everyone is deserving of access to care, and should be seen, heard, believed and validated in their experiences and I hope to create this container for you. I identify as a queer, non-binary and currently able-bodied Asian American, born and raised in California. My experience growing up as a child of immigrant parents and navigating the world with intersecting identities offered me unique challenges in navigating the sense of belonging with my intersecting identities. Because of these experiences, I have seen how the systems we live within have oppressed those who hold marginalized identities and continue to do so. This has greatly influenced how I approach my therapeutic work and addressing oppressive structures that permeate our daily lives.

In my time with you, I aim to build a relationship grounded in trust, openness, curiosity, acceptance and joy. I will strive to understand how your past experiences, interpersonal dynamics, and cultural contexts shape how you navigate the world. My style can be described as warm, relational, and strengths-based, focusing on your inner strengths, interests, resourcefulness, and social support systems. My approach is informed by anti-oppressive and feminist frameworks, while seeking to honor each person’s autonomy and individuality. So together, I hope to create a welcoming space where you can feel empowered to come as you are, share your truth, process your experiences, try new skills or ways of relating, collaborate on ways to work toward your goals and support you in your growth and healing.

I look forward to connecting with you and walking alongside you.
