Rinny Newell

Hi, my name is Rinny (she/they)! I work with couples, individuals, and families on a wide range of issues including improving communication, sex therapy, intimacy discrepancies, multicultural, multiracial, and intersectional identities, arranged marriage, infidelity, systemic racism/marginalization, trauma, abuse and grief, gender affirming services, and polyamory/ENM.

From my perspective, our world is heavily relational, and I bring this approach into my work as I seek to better understand who you are and who you hope to become within and outside of your relationships. I believe in the importance of exploring our many identities and allowing ourselves to be witnessed in this exploration. My therapeutic approach is curious, realistic, non-judgmental and humorous. I am here to both support you and challenge you, while providing a space for you to process whatever arises. I utilize Narrative and Experiential Therapies, along with values from Multicultural Counseling, Systems-Thinking, as well as Womanist and Sex Positive perspectives throughout my sessions.

As someone who has been on your end, I understand the importance of finding care providers that can provide you with a “safe space.” I hope to create a space for you and yours that feels safe enough for you to show up especially human – to laugh and cry, to share stories and deep secrets without fear of judgment or worry. I invite you to bring yourself and all of the parts that come along with you. This is a privilege I do not take lightly and will honor as we walk through this journey together.
