Sophia Belser

Hi! My name is Sophia (she/her). Starting therapy can feel like standing at the edge of something unfamiliar- exciting, maybe a little overwhelming, and full of possibility. Whether you’re here out of curiosity, frustration, or hope for something different, I want to acknowledge the effort it took to get to this point. You deserve support that truly meets you where you are, honors your story, and helps you move towards a life that feels more like your own.

In our time together, I hope to create a space where you feel safe to explore who you are with curiosity and care. I see therapy as a collaborative process, centering your voice and choice every step of the way. As a mixed-race, queer woman who holds both privileged and marginalized identities, I bring an intersectional lens to my work. I recognize the ways oppressive systems can impact mental health and strive to nurture self-compassion as we navigate those challenges together.

My practice draws from Emotion-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, helping you reconnect with yourself and reshape how you relate to the world around you. I especially enjoy working with teens and adults navigating life’s many transitions, whether that means exploring identity, managing anxiety, untangling intergenerational dynamics, or finding affirmation and clarity around queer experiences.

I bring warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for the resilience that has carried you this far. If this resonates with you, I look forward to connecting and being a part of your journey.
