Clinical Application

Applications for the 2025 clinical internship year are closed as of November 18th, 2024. Internship applications will reopen in October 2025 for Winter, Spring & Fall 2026 programs.

Sakura Counseling accepts internship applications for Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC), Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling (MFCT). Sakura is currently not able to hire Professional Mental Health Counseling (PMHC) interns.

We are also accepting applicants for post-graduate clinicians including Professional Counselor Associate, Marriage and Family Associate, Licensed Professional Counselors, and similar forms of post-graduate clinical staff.

We are seeking motivated individuals who are eager to learn, be collaborative, practice humility, welcome humor, grow, and support community members in their therapy journey. This clinical experience will stretch you, inspire you, and provide you with the practical experience necessary to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application.

As you prepare your application, we encourage you to reflect on your passion for counseling, your academic achievements, and any relevant experiences that have shaped your journey in this field. We look forward to learning about your unique perspectives and how you envision contributing to and benefiting from our internship program.

1. Review Internship and Supervision expectations (your school’s and Sakura’s) and make sure we are a good fit in both directions.
2. Fill out application and written responses (document above)
3. Email completed Application Process, Resume, and Cover Letter to interns@sakuracounseling.org (please make sure to include ALL needed documents to be considered for an internship)
4. The Admin Team will review your applications for 2026 and reach out to schedule a group interview for October 20^th– 22^nd (Winter start) or Decembers 1^st -5^th (Spring or Fall start) .
